Our Small Holding

We are Richard and Jacqui Pilka, we have 2 young children and since 2007 we have been working to create a viable smallholding.  We have installed a wind and hydro electric turbine to generate most of our power. We keep rare breed pigs and highland cows as well as different kinds of poultry. We sell our free range meat and we have a bunkhouse on Air BnB.

Our History

Stiperden House Farm is a traditional hill farm consisting of 80 acres of moorland and pasture. We bought the farm in 2007 as a family home with a view to creating a sustainable smallholding.

We have built up a herd of rare breed pigs and highland cattle, installed wind and water turbines to generate our own sustainable energy and set up bunkhouse accommodation on Air BnB.

Whilst not registered as organic we do not use pesticides or herbicides. Vaccines and medicines are only ever used to maintain high standards of animal welfare.
